My digital creations come from my imagination, fertilized by the intense emotions I have lived over the years while playing many varied roles–from student and protester, to wife, mother, sister, daughter and friend, among many, many others. My tools are simple–the small camera in my Mac notebook computer or a pocket-sized point-and shoot along with a fairly primitive photo editing program (although I now go increasingly to Photoshop for more complex manipulations). The vast majority of the faces you see in these images are self-portraits, although a small number do use portraits of family or friends. My goal is to give life to the deep emotions that are part of the human condition so, in all cases, I consider these to be images of the universal human soul, not of me or of anyone in particular.
